White Settlement is a small Metroplex community situated 10 miles west of downtown Fort Worth. A 2013 report puts the population at just over 16,700.

This modest suburb is served by the White Settlement Independent School District. Students attend one of four elementary schools and then go on to attend one of WSID’s two middle schools. Most go on to graduate from either Brewer High or Mesa High, a school that offers a disciplinary alternative education program.

Quiet and green, White Settlement has a number of parks where residents of all ages can enjoy outdoor activities. The largest is Central Park, which offers such amenities as a football field, four baseball fields, two softball fields, two basketball courts (one for adults, the other for children), a playground, a duck pond and three picnic shelter areas.

It also has a skateboard and roller blade park that is especially popular with young people. During the summer, Central Park also hosts free family movie nights.

Good for seniors 

White Settlement also has a Senior Center for older residents. It provides a full schedule of activities that include bingo, domino games, choir, music and dance lessons and fitness activities for all levels and abilities.

Real estate in this suburb – which includes homes and apartments – is extremely affordable. Many lovely homes are priced at below $100,000. Even luxury homes are very modestly priced, with many below $200,000.
